At ChumpDump we love three things..

1. Players having fun

We really like data + mashups.  Today’s API scene on the web makes nearly anything you can imagine possible.  As our game grows, more and more players have a ton of fun and help create a larger and larger data set to pull from.  Using this data, our dev team has started creating various visualizations of it.

Data wants to be free, it wants to be explored, enjoyed.

ChumpDAR

ChumpDAR was created by taking the current set of “dumped” data from ChumpDump and mapping it with the Google Maps API.  It makes for a killer visual.  A whole globe of chumps!

Clicking any where in the map you can pan around, zoom in and check out some of these tasty chumps, where they are (based on their last tweet) and why they were dumped.

ChumpDAR - CLUSTER AKA “THE NUKE” MAP

Same concept here, map dumped data on to Google Maps, but this time we reduce the number of dump points and focus more on concentration of impact.  Obviously our home town launch city of Columbus, Ohio has been impacted the most.  This kind of WarGames nuke map is very, very cool.

ChumpStream

Years ago Twistori was one of THE coolest twitter data visualizations around.  A simple list of top emotional keywords, sorted and displayed in a cool big visual way.  ChumpStream pays homage to Twistori with its own take on the data visualization style, displaying the SAVED and the DUMPED in one seemingly never ending scroll fest.

ChumpDump the Layar Experience

Layar is a cool augmented reality company.  The Layar concept is pretty simple, overlay geo-locational data in your camera view on your smartphone of choice.  Its a VIEW into data thats lifelike, living, you see your town, your street, wherever you are standing and you see that data of the layar in the distance.  Its the beginning of a very cool new reality thats just beginning.  Layar we suspect will be acquired some day.. (cough GOOGLE), but until then we had to play with their technology, and so we give you the ChumpDump Layar Experience.

ROUTE?  Yep you are seeing that correctly… ChumpDump on Layar, will ROUTE to the dumpie or saved person near you.  LOL that’s the most hilarious part of the mashup if you ask me!
